Junior Sunday School

Please find here Lent-Week4 a link to some activity sheets for children to use.

Junior Sunday School is for all primary school age children.  The children come into church with their families and stay for the first hymn, the welcome and the opening prayers.  During the Gloria the children, with their leaders, leave to gather in the community room for Sunday School.  Parents who wish to accompany their very young children during the session are welcome to do so.

In Sunday School a candle will be lit and the children and leaders are invited to share their experiences of the past week.  This is followed by prayers and the  Bible story which may be one of the stories set by the Church for the Sunday or based on a theme that the Sunday Schools are focusing on over several weeks, for example following age-appropriate materials from the Scripture Union.

The Bible story is followed by a craft activity related to the story, which is  fun for the children and helps them to deepen their understanding of the story. The children and their leaders rejoin the congregation in time for Holy Communion. After Communion they have the opportunity to show and talk about what they have done during Sunday School.

All Children and families are welcome, no previous church experience is necessary.
